Family Pictures

n
I love this one! But what am I looking at? I kind of like how I am not looking at the camera :) I also love the "attitude" that Madilyn is displaying. She was such a good girl during all these pictures! We were so proud of her! She loved having her picture taken!!!
I love this one!!!

Madilyn loved holding her brother and I love the look on her face, as she really took the "job" seriously!! She was so careful with him (until I told her that we were all done, then she just pushed him off of her!)

We finally took our family pictures last weekend in my parents backyard. I have always loved their backyard and it seemed like the perfect place to take our pics. We are really happy with how they turned out!!! It is hard to believe that Cowen is almost 4 months old and Madilyn is 2 and 1/4. Here is a little about what they are into and doing these days:

Madilyn
is talking so well these days. She is always asking "what's that sound?" or "What is that thing?"....I love it. She is such a happy girl and I love how she loves life. She is really enjoying all the snow that we already have all over the ground! Her favorite movie is Disney's Cars...we watch it at least once a day :)

Cowen is trying to learn to roll over. He is such a smiley baby and would love to socialize over anything else...this poses a problem when it is time for sleep. We are going to start sleep training him next month, as he is a little too young for it now. I am looking forward to getting a full night's sleep!!! He is different from other babies, as he LOVES when we are dressing him. Especially when his shirts go over his head. He just giggles and giggles. Madilyn absolutely HATED anything going over her head. It is cute to hear him giggle every time I dress him.

It is fun to see the relationship that Madilyn and Cowen are forming too. Madilyn is interested in cars, trucks, heavy equipment (such as bulldozers), blocks, animals, and all the typical boy things. This should make for good times when they are older :) We pass all the girl stuff in the toy store and she doesn't even look twice!! She is too much like me when I was her age.

Stay tune, as our Christmas card is coming soon!!! Can't wait for Christmas this year! Madilyn is so much fun!

To_DO List

So Madilyn is 2 years and 3 months now and we still have yet to take her 2 year pictures!! It is starting to weigh

HEAVILY

on my mind.

SO this weekend is the time to get it done!!! RAIN, SHINE..doesn't matter. Also, we are seriously in need of a new family pic with our new addition included.

Also, the photo Christmas cards are $5.00 off at Costco and that ends soon...so we must get to snapping away....

now if only I had that Canon Rebel camera that I want incredibly badly...now that would be awesome!!

PS....we almost have our Christmas shopping done! Yeah for us :) So I guess we are not slacking on
everything.

Let the weekend begin (in a few days)!!!

UPDATE: So we got the family ones done..but not Mad's 2 year pics yet...It will have to be a snow picture now :)

Our week in REVIEW

Trick-or-treating with my little lady bug and mini pea pod.

Cowen LOVED his pea pod costume...he giggled as I put it on him and got really comfy in it and passed out as we were walking along :)

Aunt Jaime and Uncle Joe came trick-or-treating with us!

Madilyn LOVED trick-or-treating!
She was so polite and so grown up about it...brought tears to my eyes. We had so much fun!

Here she is checking out her loot.

such an amazing fall day for Halloween.

This face says it all! Can you believe people are just handing out candy? And I get to wear this awesome lady bug costume that I have been talking about for weeks. What could be better?

First house....
It was a wonderful week and weekend, as we had a lot of family in town. Here is Madilyn with her cousin Robert. She followed him around all weekend, holding his hand and talking to him...he was such a good sport and so patient with her.

Madilyn loved playing in the leaves with her Auntie Jeannine
Here is our little lady bug and pea pod getting ready to
trick-or-treat

she didn't like the hood on her costume, so she ended up not wearing it. It was like pulling teeth to get her to wear it for the pictures!

We had such beautiful weather on Halloween day. We spent the day at Paul's parents house with his sister Jeannine and her husband Brad and our nephew Robert from Reno, NV. Also, Paul's brother Brian was here from Phoenix, AZ. It was so fun to have them here.

We carved pumpkins, ate pizza, and enjoyed each other's company. Then had a Halloween Party that evening with our tradition of chili and cornbread. We added pumpkin pie (in memory of Paul's grandma) and had a Texas sheet cake...yum yum.

Madilyn was pretty grossed out by the inside of the pumpkin! She kept gagging and making a funny face. This was surprising, as she usually loves gross stuff!

Her cousin Robert, Uncle Brad, and Uncle Brian talked her into touching the seeds.

Jeannine grew this pumpkin in her garden! It was huge and perfect :)

Cowen and his beautiful Auntie Jeannine

The week before Halloween, my Grandma Sims and Aunt Sue were here from Ohio to meet Cowen. We took a few 4 generation pics thanks to my thoughtful husband :) Thanks babe.

Madilyn was a little tired and not so into the whole thing, but I think they turned out perfect anyway. My Grandma is 89...doesn't look like it does she? She is amazing and beautiful.

Madilyn is a little too much like me when I was a little girl. I was always making silly faces and pulling silly poses for pictures...I still hate "posed" shots....

My dad with his mom and sister Sue.

Hmmm...it is a mystery where I get my sillyness in pictures...

What a wonderful week we had! We are so fortunate to have such amazing families. Can't wait to see you all again soon.

It just keeps getting BETTER & BETTER

Our little man and little lady are getting cuter every day! Madilyn is saying and doing so many things and it is so fun to hear what is on her mind.
This is a picture of her with her new PIGGY BANK....she had a small one, but accidentally dropped it on the tile in the bathroom and it shattered....

she was devastated...so the next morning this new little piggy was on the table in her room! What a surprise :) (She has the best daddy in the world)

She just had to have her picture taken with it, as she is really into pictures right now.
LOVE THIS GIRL!!!

Cowen is the BEST baby! He is always smiling and laughing! He loves people and being a part of everything. He amazes me! We have had a really busy past couple of weeks with a lot of family in town (on both sides of the family) and this little guy has done amazing. We have been out late and up early and he is taking it in stride :) I am very thankful for this!!!

Paul and I couldn't ask for better kids
