Missing my camera....and my husband...and an update

It is hard to update the blog without any new pictures to share!!!!

Here are a few pics of Cowen (taken about a month ago)eating peas for the first time. He didn't really like them very much....but he didn't really take to eating solids the way Madilyn did.
She couldn't get enough....
Cowen just goes through the motions it seems like.

I can tell that he is only doing it to "appease" me. The look on his face is priceless. He has really taken to avocado, and frozen apples or pears eaten out of his baby safe feeders.

We have been making really great progress this week, though. He is starting to do better and Madilyn and I couldn't be happier about it! He seems to be enjoying his oatmeal now too.

Madilyn loves feeding him and I wish that I had pics of her feeding him to share, but::::

We have been without a camera for the last 3 w
eeks, as Paul took our camera with him on his deployment. I am looking forward to seeing all that he has captured during his travels,

but......

(I have been not so secretly hoping that it gets lost or broken so that I can get a new one that I have my eye on) ;)

We are hoping and crossing our fingers that Paul makes it home sometime next week. We are all missing him like crazy.

I can't believe that Cowen is 7 months old today!! Wow, time is flying. He has really accomplished a lot in the last month or so.

He is sitting up on his own really well. He rolls around to get what he wants and he is saying "ma ma" so well now (it melts my heart every time!!) He is also saying "bababababa" and "da da" as well.
He is so interested in everything and wants to get his hands on anything that he can!!!! It is fun to be able to sit him on the floor and have him involved in what Madilyn and I are playing...most of the time anyway...as soon as he grabs for one of Madilyn's cars, she hits him on the head...and hard too!!! It really frustrates me and I have been really struggling with how to deal with it (any tips would be appreciated!!)
I have been putting her in "time out" in her "naughty chair" and having her apologize to him. Today, she was particularly naughty. After a few times in "time out" it seemed to be getting better...and then this evening....she went to hit him and then stopped herself before she actually did!!!

It was amazing to see!!!

I was SOOOO proud of her and let her know. I took her to the park and got her an ice cream cone on the way home. We'll see how she does tomorrow...one step at a time.

This week, we enrolled Madilyn in preschool and she starts on August 16th. We are so excited. It is a music based preschool and she will also be doing a tumbling class as well. I can't believe we are already here....again- time flies, especially when you are having fun, which I really am.

:::::Missing THIS face:::::::

Paul has been in Bahrain now for 2 weeks.

I really MISS him

but, I am so impressed with how well that Madilyn and Cowen are doing!! They are really missing their daddy, but are being extra well-behaved for me.

The days are going by pretty fast, as we have been keeping pretty busy.

We are so thankful for our amazing family and friends that are so supportive of us!

We have been having fun baking, going to the park, playing cars (at least 10X a day), playing outside, riding bikes, pulling the wagon, going out to eat, shopping, preparing for Easter, visiting and registering for Madilyn's preschool for next fall, and getting Cowen to actually LIKE his baths with his sister. Now Madilyn wants to take a bath EVERY night because she loves being in there with Cowen...it is adorable.

We have been getting into a little routine and having fun. We look forward to visits from family/friends and Skyping with Paul...all this makes it easier to be physically apart from the most important man in the world.

It is amazing to see little Madilyn taking care of her brother and thoroughly enjoying playing with him. She is so amazing!

Only 11 or so more days to go...not that we are counting or anything :)

These 2 little faces

make me SMILE

Stats at 6 months old

This little big man weighed in at

21 and 1/2 LBS at his 6 month visit

and

is 28" long

WOW!!!

He can now say ma ma ( and I am so proud that he said it before da da!) he hasn't said da da yet.

He is starting to like new foods more. He loves to eat avocado and pear.

He rolls around like crazy if he is placed on the floor

He is trying his hardest to sit up on his own

and he is the cutest thing ever.
