Here is our little man at 15 months (looking at his favorite book)....
At his well baby checkup today, he weighed 22 pounds 15 ounces. He has been just about 22 pounds for 9 months now! Concerning? I am not quite sure. He is still getting taller, just not gaining much (or any) weight. He is in the 75 percentile for height and only the 25 percentile for weight.
So he is growing...just not gaining.
It is so hard to believe as he was 9 pounds 10 ounces when he was BORN!
Crazy.
He doesn't look little (at all!)
he isn't too much interested in food these days though. He would rather be exploring, tearing things apart, looking at books, or just playing. Eating requires too much sitting still. He isn't a fan.
The Dr. looked concerned to me, but she didn't offer up much advice. She asked me what a typical meal plan is for him each day and if he eats a variety of foods, but that was it.
She also told me that I could bring him in before his scheduled 18 month visit if I felt concerned about his weight or if I thought that he might be losing weight. Hmmm.. I guess we will just watch him and
try and get creative with the calories/foods for him and see what happens.
Other than that and a little eczema, he checked out fine. He is even ahead in his vocabulary skills...probably because he loves books.
Oh yeah, and he is cutting his first molar on the bottom right side. Maybe it is just too uncomfortable to eat sometimes...
and....
Madilyn is feeling much better. She went most of the day Wednesday without puking, but then puked at about 7:30pm and woke us up at 11pm with vomit all over her and her bed (again). That was the last of it though. Thank goodness.
Today, Madilyn talked nonstop during Cowen's Dr. appointment. She told the nurse that she puked and had lots and lots of bugs in her tummy, but it was okay because she got to drink ginger ale.
She told the Dr. and nurse all kinds of things.
She is just too hilarious.
She was a sweet sister and held her brother's hand during his shots. I think he appreciated it.
what he didn't appreciate was the band aid. He ripped it off and threw it :)
After Cowen's apointment, (and 2 suckers, a custard ice cream cone, and a grilled cheese later) we headed over to my friend Alana's. We put her babies carseat in the car and headed to the zoo for the afternoon.
We had a great time.
I will post pics soon :)
In the spirit of trying to get my little Co man to eat, we picked up some good Mexican food (his fav) on the way home.
and
he ate really well.
What can I say? The boy loves bean and cheese burritos and guacamole.
I have no idea where he gets that from ;)
As for now, it is time for sleep.
