***Wrapping up or Wonderful Oregon Adventure***

Our last few days in Oregon were laid back and fun. On our drive from McMinnville to Salem we came across a ferry. Paul and I were both pretty excited, as we had never been in our car on a ferry before.

This is the river that we crossed. So beautiful. This is the Willamette River. We stayed in Salem that evening. We already had a hotel booked through hotels.com. When we finally arrived at said hotel, we decided that we just couldn't stay there...it was pretty bad. I was disappointed in hotels.com because they have NEVER let me down before this. It was a pretty seedy place. So we ventured on to find another hotel to stay at. The next morning we were off to the Redmond/Bend area. It was a gorgeous drive there.
We stopped and visited Paul's former work buddy Gary that moved back there after a few years in Utah and his wife Rose.
Going to their house is pretty much just like going to Paul's parents or my parents.
Rose made us spaghetti and meatballs and then after dinner we were off to the park to let the kids play.

Rose taught Madilyn how to pump when swinging. Madilyn still prefers to be pushed, but does try pumping now and she always says "this is what Rose told me to do"...it is adorable.

Here is our attempt at a group shot of all of us. It was a little dark, but it turned out good. I love how Gary and Rose's dog Moses is licking Paul's face. Haha.
The next day we stopped in Bend (cutest town) for breakfast. We stopped at Jake's Diner and it was more than amazing. I would drive the 12+ hours just to have breakfast there!! Then we pushed through and made it home that night after a crazy long drive. The kids did pretty well for being in the car for so long. Madilyn is used to it and is so great in the car. Cowen does pretty well for a 1 year old...no complaints.
Our next trip is last minute and coming up quick...Reno, Nevada to visit our "GG" (Madilyn and Cowen's Great Grandma Dorothy). 8 hours will be a breeze :)
