**On the Road Again....Reno, NV Oct 15-17 2010**

Last weekend we decided (pretty last minute) to venture off to Reno for the weekend. Paul's Grandma Dorothy has not been feeling well, so we thought that we would visit her and try to cheer her up and get her feeling better.

We stopped in Elko, NV to let the kiddos stretch their legs and blow off some energy. We found a great park there. The kids loved the dinosaur and the slides (as well as the swings, but that is a given at this point ;) Madilyn would live on a swing if it were possible.
Madilyn was so scared of this slide, but kept climbing to the top and then screaming that she was too scared. Then after doing that 4 times or so, she decided to just go for it. Then she had to go down it about 15 times before we left.

We arrived in Reno around dinnertime on Friday. We got pizza and headed to Paul's sister Jeannine's house where we were staying. Cowen was in love with Auntie Jeannine's dogs. Here he is hanging out with Lily.

This was a cute moment. I told Cowen that he needed to be changed and he went and got the mat and laid it down. He usually resists being changed so it was pretty cute.

Madilyn was in absolute heaven playing with her cousin Robert. He was such a great sport. He is 12 1/2 now and such a great guy. He is so patient with Madilyn and Cowen and was willing to play with her. It made her year!!! She just loves Robert.

We spent time with Grandma Dorothy on Saturday and Sunday morning. The kiddos really loved visiting with her. Madilyn is always talking about her GG and is saying how she misses her and wants to go and see her again.

While Paul and Grandma Joan helped Grandma Dorothy eat her meals and Ensure milkshakes, Madilyn enjoyed a milkshake of her own....

and so did Cowen. They were trying to encourage GG to eat and gain strength. I am pretty sure it worked, even if it was only a little bit.

We had a great visit with GG. It was so great to see her.

Good thing that the kiddos are such good travelers (for the most part) as this was our second really long road trip in the last month.

What's next? San Diego in January? (Crossing my fingers :)
