*Low Tide @ Haystack Rock*

We spent an evening at Cannon Beach at low tide. We played on the beach--but instead of sand castles we made sand roads/tunnels/bridges for the trucks to drive on. The kids had the best time doing this. I loved playing in the sand as well---it is the softest sand ever.
We chased waves and played in tide pools. We watched the sunset and the moon rise.
This was one of the BEST experiences of my life :) Truly.

and here's why:

our little lady got to hold a starfish...and we weren't at the aquarium or Sea World---we were in their actual habitat. Madilyn has never done this before....and she has had many many chances. She loves visiting the aquarium (and we have been to a lot of them) and Sea World (she has been twice) and she has always been scared to hold/touch the starfish.

Until now...she did it and loved it.

How amazing is this? It was so neat to see all these starfish and other sea life. I was truly amazed. I couldn't get enough.

the kids loved playing in all the tide pools and looking for little creatures.

It was magical

and the sunset was amazing

and the moon (see it between the 2 houses behind the tree) was full and gorgeous. It was one of the best evenings of my life.
