and here are our little passengers settling in for the L O N G drive. We decided to drive it all in one day. We left our driveway around 8:15am and arrived at our hotel in Portland at 9:30pm. And we only made 2 stops the whole way. We were pretty impressed with the kids! Way to road trip :)
He was pretty excited to see that he had his own screen to watch movies on. He is not big on TV, but he thought it was neat to have a screen just for him.
Here we are at a rest stop somewhere in Idaho out of the Boise area. We had lunch here and stretched our legs for an hour or so.
Madilyn didn't want to picnic on the lawn with us, so she set up her lunch on a picnic table. All Cowen wanted to do was get into "nasty" stuff...like rocks with dog poop. or cigarette butts....it was tiring chasing him and keeping him from bringing his found "treasures" into the car with us. At least it wore him out!!
Our next stop was a HUGE park in Baker City, Oregon. It was so great to find this park!!!
We loved how "old school" it was! I remember a lot of this same equipment from my elementary school in Ohio. The kiddos had a great time swinging and stretching their legs.
Back in the car around hour 10 or so, we were all getting pretty silly....
Then we saw a huge accident involving a 5th wheel trailer on the other side of the freeway. It was holding back traffic for miles. Luckily, it looked as if the trailer was the only thing hurt. It was smashed.
Madilyn was entertaining everyone with her boiled egg!! She is a silly girl.
This guy drove almost the entire way. Thankfully, he was feeling up to it (as I was just tired and not feeling so great :( I think I only drove about 3 hours of the whole trip.
We had a wonderful day in Portland today. More updates to come soon :)
