Madilyn had her 2nd day of preschool today and her 1st tumbling class. Paul and I decided to leave during her preschool after she was settled and comfortable.
It was a little hard for me to leave her there, but I knew she would be okay
Our plan was to come back in time to walk her to her very 1st tumbling class and then stay with her for that class.
We ran errands while she was in her preschool class. We needed to get sand for our new sandbox, gumdrops for Madilyn's birthday cake on Saturday, and also little presents for the 9 kids in her class for Tuesday. They are going to celebrate Madilyn's birthday next Tuesday and we wanted to bring a little gift for the kids in her class, so they could share in her big day :) It was neat to just spend time alone with Cowen as well. We haven't really done that too much yet.
We picked out sand pails and shovels. What could be better? She got a sandbox for her bday and spent her birthday at the beach...nothing says "Madilyn" like sand :)
It is very very rainy in Salt Lake City today, so that made all of our errands even more interesting :) but the kids LOVED the umbrella.
When we got back to Madilyn's school she was happy to see us and was ready to go home. She seemed a little excited for her tumbling class, but she seemed really tired too.
When we got to the tumbling room, Madilyn broke down and cried. She said she just wanted to go home and didn't want to jump on the mats or play. I just held her and let her settle in a bit. The teacher wasn't so great at teaching 3 year olds and the other 4 kids were running all over the place and not listening....kind of a disaster.
Then Paul and I got the giggles :) It was hard not to, with Madilyn bawling, and the other kids running everywhere. It was clear that the teacher wasn't familiar with teaching 3 year olds.
Madilyn eventually joined in and had so much fun rolling down mats, walking on balance beams, crawling through tunnels, and jumping through hoops. She follows directions so well.
We are really proud of her and can't wait to experience all the fun times to come as we continue her school journey.
