Little Photo Session

So we really wanted to get some fun pictures of Madilyn for her 1st birthday. I absolutely HATE posed studio photos, so we decided to get some fun "kind of posed" but mostly candid pics of Madilyn.....it was hard work, but here are some of our favorites out of the ones we took. I can't believe how "grown up" she looks. Enjoy!

Big fire near our house.

A little too close for comfort!!! The mountain caught fire and quickly spread. They had it out late the next day, but had to evacuate a few houses...luckily we didn't have too :) Still, a little scary. I haven't heard if they have figured out what happen. I know that it was caused by a person, but don't know how. Summers here are too crazy with all the wildfires.

Snowbird

A couple Sunday's ago, we enjoyed a great chairlift ride, and small hike with Grandma Joan. At the top of the chairlift ride, there is a tunnel in the mountain you can walk through to get to the other side. It opens up a lot more trails for skiers at the resort. In the summer, it is great to hike though. When we were done hiking, stopped at Octoberfest for some brats and potato pancakes. Check out the beautiful views.

Madilyn discovered that playing in the dirt is fun and loved picking up the biggest rocks that she could find.

Sorry so late...Mads 1st bday party photos

Happy Birthday Madilyn!!!

The theme was animals, as Madilyn is obsessed with them :) I made the pig cupcakes, but ordered the cute cookies. We had so much fun decorating! The party was at Grandma Penny and Grandpa Dan's.

Madilyn helped put together the gazebo.
Having fun with Aunt Jaime and Joe

So many gifts...it reminded us all of Christmas.
Madilyn enjoyed feasting on all her favorite foods...tortillas, avocado, cheese, pinto beans and grilled chicken. Hmm..wonder where she gets her eating habits from??

It was a gorgeous day, so we decided to have a little photo shoot with my sisters and me and our men. Madilyn wasn't in the first few, but she wandered up and sat on my lap for the last couple...she is such a little ham sometimes.
Mom and her girls.
Sisters...and Madilyn too.
It was so fun watching Madilyn open her gifts. She really enjoyed them and all the paper too of course.

Playing with Aunt Jessie and Alex

Don't know whose idea this was!

Digging in to her cupcake.
playing in the water is her favorite thing to do! She got to play all afternoon in her little ducky pool and she also had a sprinkler to walk/crawl through. She was so happy!

Loving the cake! She kept putting her thumb in the frosting and then sucking it off. It was the cutest thing, as she had never done that with food before.
It couldn't have been a better day to celebrate Madilyn! She had all her favorite people, things, activities, food, and got to try cake for the first time. We had an amazing day!
