9 and 1/2 Months old, but with a head of hair (and personality) fit for a 3 year old!

Doesn't she look adorable in the morning? Definitely some major "bed head" going on, but still adorable :) I just can't bring myself to cut her massive amounts of hair. I love it. I guess I should learn to style it though!
Madilyn is growing and growing. We had her 9 month check up on Friday and she is now 19 lbs 6 ozs!! She is right in the average for her age in weight, but she is 28 and 1/4 inches tall, which puts her in the tall category. She is still not crawling, but is so interested in pulling herself up and holding onto our hands and taking steps. The Dr. is not concerned about the crawling thing, as she said that some babies never crawl and not to worry. I am not worried about it, and am actually cherishing these last few moments with her before she is mobile and in to everything!! She is such a happy baby and enjoys being out and about and meeting new people. Where ever we go people (especially men) are coming up to say Hi and talk to her. It is funny! She absolutely LOVES having picnics in the yard with us and trying our food, even though she can't try everything yet. She also has found a huge love for dogs and puppies...hmmm just might have to get another one...we'll see. Madilyn is really growing up and showing her cute, happy personality. We are also enjoying this stage while it lasts....those terrible twos are right around the corner.

Also, we sold our house! We are excited. We are closing in the beginning of July, so the packing has begun. We are excited for new adventures to come, but will really miss our house!!!

New adventures can be very tiring!

Sometimes Madilyn falls asleep at the weirdest times :) She is at the age where she wants to be playing, moving, exploring constantly and she wears herself out and then falls asleep when you least expect it. Here she is trying to catch a quick nap, but there must have been a little too much light in the room that day.....I thought that this was too cute.
This is Madilyn's favorite way to fall asleep...in her dad's arms. Her new routine is having dad walk her or rock her to sleep. They both look forward to this time together every night :)
This was after breakfast one morning. She still had her toy in her hand!
Favorite nap spot!
Morning snooze with dad. Madilyn loves to wake up, eat, then go back to sleep for an hour or so with us. She loves to be on my shoulder or Paul's shoulder. She always seems to make her way there, snuggle under the covers, and snooze. It is heaven :)

Madilyn has proven herself to be quite the party animal. (No wonder she falls asleep so easliy). This was at the surprise Bday Luau party that we had for Grandpa Larry (Paul's dad). Madilyn stayed up and was very happy to have all the people around.
It was over 90 degrees here last week, so we had to indulge in a few snow cones! Here is Madilyn trying her first one.
This was our Mother's Day photo. We spent the day at the park: eating, relaxing, and just enjoying each other's company. It was a great day.

A little blurry, but I love this pic of Madilyn.
Talking to her travel companion, the giraffe.

Our little pirate "cheese beard"

Madilyn has been trying many new foods lately and always wants to try what we are eating. It has been fun watching her enjoy eating and all the new flavors of things. The other night we were having burritos and we gave her some of the shredded cheese. Most of it just stuck to her face, but she felt cool because she got to eat what we were eating. We were joking that if Madilyn was a pirate, then her name would be "cheese beard" because of all the cheese on her face. It was adorable.

Time Flies.....

I can't believe that it has been so long since my last post! It seems that time really does fly...especially with a 9 month old. We have been having so much fun with Madilyn. We are happy that summer is finally here and we are spending most of our days in the backyard soaking up the sun! We have also been "training" for our summer hikes by taking Madilyn for walks in her new backpack.
I have been having fun putting cute sun hats on Madilyn. This one is one that I used to wear when I was a baby :)

Snot, Fevers, and teeth?

I have to admit that this is one of my favorite holidays, as I can't get enough Mexican food :) We made some awesome quesadillas tonight in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Madilyn got to try some shredded cheddar cheese and had fun squishing it between her fingers.
Wow, what a week last week was for us. Madilyn came down with a fever last Friday and had it on and off through the weekend. We thought that it was due to teething, but then on Monday of last week the snot started flowing. So now she has experienced her first cold. :( We are almost certain that she got it from Chili's- she licked and also tried to eat the table while we were there- before we could stop her...she is at that stage where absolutely EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. It was a miserable week and then Paul and I caught it as well. I am still suffering through a stuffy nose, etc but Paul is feeling almost back to normal. Madilyn is doing well now, but still seems to be teething, although, I haven't seen any teeth pop through yet. I am sure we will see one any day now. She is getting so big and is definitely developing her little personality. I am just certain that she is going to be miss independent....that is inevitable. She is still not crawling, but we are not sure that she ever will. She is more content standing (with our help of course) and hates being on her tummy. I can't wait to see what happens when she becomes mobile...look out.
