Madilyn is turning into a little daredevil. She knows no fear, which creates a TON of fear for us.
She had a HUGE fall this morning at the park. We go to the park everyday after breakfast and play and hike/walk. Today Madilyn tripped over her own two feet and fell on her hands, and then onto her head (on the pavement no less). I saw her trip and go down on her hands and then I heard a huge thump and it scared me. I picked her up and her nose was scraped a little and bleeding a little. I knew she hit her head too, because I heard it so clearly, but didn't see anything on her head. I took her to the car to hold her and calm her down and then I saw a huge "goose egg" on her head. It looked horrible...purple and huge! The size of a quarter. She was calming down and I offered her a snack (which she took and ate)....then she drank her water and I started to feel better. I called my mom (the nurse) and she told me the scary signs to watch for. It has been 4 hours now and Madilyn is playing, ate lunch, had a nap, and seems to be back to herself. Just with a huge purple bump on her forehead.
She is walking so well and she is so sure of herself and is trying to fun, go down and up steps, etc --which means a lot of falling. I am hoping I make it through this stage without a heart attack!
